We Are Pleased To Meet You!

Lost Creek Lure Company was founded by Jamie P. Olson and Cynthia Harrison in 2024. Both from the Midwest, Jamie, an avid outdoorsman with extensive experience in trapping and lure-making, brings hands-on knowledge to their products. Meanwhile, Cynthia, a graphic design instructor at the local college, infuses creativity and innovation into their designs. Together, they form a dynamic duo, combining their unique skills to create exceptional outdoor trapping gear.

Jamie P. Olson moved to Douglas, WY in 2007, but grew up in North Dakota, where his passion for trapping and lure-making began in elementary school. His first creation was a lure made from grasshoppers, inspired by an old-timer’s advice: melt grasshoppers in mason jars and use a piece of grass or straw as bait. He even sold his lures, including hundreds of tree frogs, to the local bait shop.

Jamie’s trapping adventures have taken him across Minnesota, North Dakota, Arizona, and Wyoming. He honed his lure-making skills during his 7.5 years as a government trapper with Wildlife Services, where he had access to an extensive library of research on coyote lures. “I’ve read them all,” he says.

His correspondence with Sherm Blom, who ran the government’s research center for lures, was a significant part of his learning process.

Jamie also sought guidance from experts like Walt Earl Sr. and Craig O’Groman, further refining his techniques.

Now, Jamie operates full-time in predator control on large sheep ranches near Douglas, WY, where he protects a flock of 6,500 ewe/lambs. In addition, he runs his own outfitting business, guiding antelope and mule deer hunts, as well as guiding big game hunts with SNS Outfitters for elk, mule deer and black bear hunts in western Wyoming.

Cynthia Harrison grew up in Stillwater, MN, where she developed a passion for art and design. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from the College of Visual Arts and her Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota, focusing her creative thesis on the nature of visual representation in Roman Antiquity.

Since 1994, Cynthia has worked as an art director in the Twin Cities, specializing in catalogs, direct mail, point-of-purchase, and promotional materials. Her impressive portfolio includes successful direct-response campaigns for clients like Red Wing Shoes, United Health Group, and the University of Minnesota, as well as national promotions for the “Got Milk?” campaign. She has also worked with major licensors such as Disney, Warner Bros., Rugrats, NHL, NBA, and MLB, and redesigned a comprehensive 120-page product catalog for DecoPac, a leading cake decoration company.

In 2014, Cynthia moved to Wyoming to teach Graphic Design at Casper College, inspiring the next generation of designers. Recently, she has refreshed the branding for local businesses, including CoyoteHunter.Net and Box Creek Outfitters, designed the new construction website for Lisa Burridge and Associates (WeBuildCasper.com), and created the logo, website, and food trailer graphics for WY KNOT Pretzel Co. (wyknotpretzels.com).
